| Hekiiken is the name of an atelier that remains in Obuse to this day. Takai Kohzan, the 12th head of the Ichimura family, who ran the Masuichi-Ichimura Sake Brewery from the end of the Edo period through the start of Meiji had the atelier Hekiiken built for the artist Katsushika Hokusai. Named for that atelier, a symbol of Obuse's salon culture, Hekiiken is an easy to drink sake with a clear fruity flavor and a lively ginjo aroma. |
